High Volume Multi-Specialty Case & SCNR Calculator
|
Please enter your site’s annual volumes for each subspecialty listed. Press "Calculate" for an estimate of the annual minimum case submission requirements and an estimate of the number of Surgical Clinical Nurse Reviewers (SCNR) your site will need to submit those cases. This is only an estimate. Please call a program representative at the American College of Surgeons for participation details.

Calculation rules [show]
The sampling calculation:
A minimum of 1,680 cases per year are required for participation in the high volume multi-specialty model.
Cases will be selected using the 8-day cycle systematic sampling method. There are 46, 8-day cycles per year and cases must be submitted for 42 of those cycles.
Sampling assumes that approximately 75% of a site’s reported subspecialty case volume will meet the ACS NSQIP inclusion criteria (exclusions/case limits etc). Sites will be required to submit a minimum of 20% of those cases.
((Site Reported Cases * 75%) * 20%)/42 cycles = Subspecialty cases per 8-day cycle.
The calculator will automatically adjust if more than 20% of your cases are required to meet the minimum 1,680 annual case requirement.
Subspecialty cases per 8-day cycle * 42 required cycles = Required Sample.
Sites that wish to participate in this model must submit the calculated number of cases per subspecialty.
Case volumes and selection will be monitored.
Estimated SCNR requirement:
Required Sample/1,680 cases per SCNR = Estimated SCNRs required
